Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

While constantly on the prowl for a great makeup remover that also cleans dirt and leaves my face feeling refreshed, I decided to try Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes because I've been satisfied with the Yes to Carrots line in the past, and because it is a "natural" line of skin care.
What is different about the Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes? According to the Yes to Carrots website, the towelettes "gently remove dirt, sweat and makeup without the need to rinse!" The towelettes are only available in the US, and are 98.7% natural, biodegradable, dermatologically tested, oil-free, and hypoallergenic. They are advertised for sensitive skin, priced at 5.99, can be found at Walgreens, and contain organic cucumbers, aloe vera, and green tea for a variety of skin-saving ingredients.
     Sounds just about perfect, right?

I really wanted to believe in this product. I really, really did. I'm all about natural ingredients and anything to help the environment. But, I just couldn't get on board with this one!
I consider my face to be combination to dry skin, so naturally, I would assume this would help moisturize my face during these harsh winter months when dehydrated skin abounds.
However, this towelette made my face much, much worse! It made my skin very irritated, and very red. I thought it was my moisturizer, my sunscreen, my new MAC foundation (gasp!), anything but my prized, organic facial towelettes.
After a few experiments, I did come to the realization that it was, indeed, these towelettes, which promised me so much, but delivered so little with my splotchy, uneven skin.
I promptly returned these to my closest Walgreens, and sadly, I related my story to the cashier, and unsurprisingly, she told me she had the same problem with this product.
For now I am still on the quest for the perfect makeup-remover-sans-water-towelette. Until then, I will be sticking to my Neutrogena facial wipes, which I will be reviewing soon, and as of right now, are as close to perfect as I can get.
