Candy Lacquer Peyton

I've got another awesome Etsy nail polish find for you today! I was recently able to buy a few nail polishes from the Etsy shop Candy Lacquer, which has a ton of awesome glitter polishes when the owner re-stocks. I bought Peyton because I love a holographic polish. Peyton is described as a "holographic top coat made with spectraflair pigment." The reason I bought Peyton is because it is a top coat, so I can paint it over any polish and make it holographic!
This is one coat of Candy Lacquer Peyton over one coat of Wet N Wild Black Creme.
     Check out the photos below...

Don't pay attention the the paint near the cuticles! This was before clean-up! :)

Look at that linear holographic goodness!

I think Peyton is one of my favorite nail polishes to date! Peyton has so many possibilities; I can't wait to try it over different colors. You can find Candy Lacquer polish here. I definitely recommend checking out her shop because she carries very unique glitter polishes. What do you think about Peyton?

Black and Nude Half Moon Nails

How has everyone's weekend been? Mine was good; I had a girls' night on Friday and then went to a Chili Dinner/Talent Show Fundraiser on Saturday and hung out with my friends that night, too.
I have been wanting to do another half moon manicure for a while now, and I was interested in seeing what black polish and nude nails would look like together. First, let me show you what I used to do my half moon manicure:

I bought the hole punch reinforcements at Hobby Lobby, and I took a single sticker and put it at the bottom of my nail like in the picture below:

I would recommend cutting the sticker in half, so that you can use it twice. After I had the sticker pressed down well, I painted the Wet N Wild 424 Black Creme on the rest of the nail. This black polish is one of the best blacks I have every used because I only needed one coat for this manicure, and it was perfectly opaque. If you are looking for the perfect black nail polish, I say you run to your local pharmacy and pick this one up!
After I painted the black polish on the rest of the nail, I would slowly peel the sticker off, and this is what I was left with:

If you look closely, you can see that the half moon line is not perfectly even. I would recommend making sure you press the sticker down really well so that no polish can seep underneath the sticker. Finally, I topped my nails off with a coat of Seche Vite
I was extremely happy with how this manicure turned out. I really like how the black looks against my bare nail, and half moon manicures make your fingers look longer, too. I had a lot of people asking me about my nails this weekend, and it really wasn't that hard to do. You just have to have some patience, so I did this manicure while I was watching The Office this past Thursday night. By the way, can you believe what that Kathy girl was trying to get Jim to do? I can't wait until Pam finds out. ☺

The picture below shows my mood ring while it was changing colors. So cool!

What do you think about half moon manicures? Have you ever tried one?

Spoiled Trust Fund Baby

Hello, everyone! Today I'm going to show you another polish from the new Spoiled collection, which I love! Trust Fund Baby is a clear base with hexagonal gold, black, and turquoise glitter, and square pink glitter. The really unique aspect of this polish is the black glitter, because you don't see a lot of nail polish with black glitter!
The combination of colors in this polish looks really nice, however, I did have a problem with getting enough glitter on the nail. Instead using paint strokes like I normally would, I had to dab the glitter where I wanted it so I could get a decent amount on the nail, otherwise I would literally "paint" the glitter off.

The Spoiled collection by Wet N Wild is now at CVS for $1.99 each, and I think this is a nice polish to have in your stash because of the uniqueness of the black glitter. In the pictures above, I have Trust Fund Baby over OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! I love this combo; it looks like cupcake nails!

Spoiled Shrimp on the Barbie

Wet N Wild just came out with a new line of nail polish by the name of Spoiled for $1.99 each. Believe me when I tell you the collection is HUGE. The collection has everything from shimmers, to cremes, to glitters. I will try and take a picture of the collection the next time I'm in CVS and post it so you can see the variety of colors.
The first color I am going to show you is called Shrimp on the Barbie. I want to say thanks to my hand model Mary S for letting me paint her nails and show you this beautiful color. :)
Shrimp on the Barbie is a gorgeous peachy-coral color with gold shimmer. I did use three coats on Mary because after two, it was still somewhat sheer. The brush seemed really thick and wide, so it may be difficult to paint with if you have smaller nails.
Shrimp on the Barbie is such a classy color, and the gold shimmer is so glamorous. Other than the sheerness and the wide brush, I definitely recommend picking up this color!

Tuxedo Toes

After seeing Zooey Deschanel's tuxedo nails on this website, I decided to do a version of this on my toes. I used two coats of Wet N Wild French White Creme, followed by one coat of Petites by Scherer Venus. For the tuxedo design I used black acrylic paint.

What do you think of tuxedo nails? Have you tried them before?

Nars Zulu and Wet 'N Wild Kaleidoscope

Here are a few pictures of a combination with three coats of Nars Zulu and two coats of Wet 'N Wild Kaleidoscope on top.  Zulu is such a dark, beautiful green jelly. I ended up really loving it, even though it took a few coats to even out. It wore so long on me, I just finally had to remove it because I was ready for another polish! Kaleidoscope has small, silver glitter in a clear base with holographic glitter scattered throughout. This polish is so beautiful layered over other colors! When layered over Zulu, the combination looks so Christmas-y! It reminds me of a lit Christmas tree! I love both colors, and I will be wearing them more in the future.

I'm Getting Sunburned with these Wet N Wild Eyeshadows!

'I'm Getting Sunburned' is another one of Wet N Wild's new Spring eyeshadow trios, and this is actually one of the first that I purchased just because of that gorgeous gold/bronze color! This trio contains a baby pink with pink and silver shimmer for the browbone, a dark blackish brown with red and gold glitter for the crease, and a golden bronze color for the eyelid color. Out of all the trios I've reviewed so far, this one is probably the most work and daytime friendly, because you can use the bronze or the pink for an all-over eyelid color with subtle lining on the lashline of the dark brown color. This trio would also be easy to put in your purse so you could touch up and darken your eye look for a night outing. The brown is very, very pigmented, you would have to try it in person to really see how dark it is. Like with all of the eyeshadows from this line that I have tried so far, these colors are very creamy and easy to apply. I definitely recommend this trio because it gives you more neutral options for an everyday eye look. Are you loving these eyeshadow? What have you picked up from Wet N Wild's Spring collection?

In the look below, I tapped the pink color on the inner corner of the eyelid, tapped the bronze color on the outer eyelid and into the crease, and blended those together. I then lined my upper lashline with the brown color and brought it out a bit. I used the brown color on the outer lower lashline as well. Obviously you can create numerous looks with this trio, such as smoking the brown color out more instead of having such a defined line.

You'll Become a 'Spoiled Brat' with this Wet N Wild trio!

For some reason I did not think I was going to like this color combination, but I was really, really pleased with it! It's the next of the Spring 2011 Wet N Wild Eyeshadow collection, and it is named 'Spoiled Brat.' It contains a metallic silver, a semi-matte black, and a semi-matte magenta pink. The reason I say semi-matte is because the black is a matte color, but it contains just a little bit of glitter. From the picture below, you can barely see the glitter. The magenta pink looks matte at first glance, but it has a slight purple sheen to it in some lights. This eyeshadow has incredible staying power for such a low price ($1.99/2.99 at CVS, Walgreens, and Target), as long as you have a proper primer underneath. The pictures below were taken at 7am this morning, and by 10pm, the eyeshadow was still going strong. As Lloyd says in 'Dumb and Dumber', I like it a lot! :)

In the pictures below, 'Spoiled Brat' is the three middle swatches.

In the look below, I feel like I am doing some crazy 80's makeup! lol I really enjoyed this trio because the colors are so fun to wear. I simply used the silver eyeshadow on the inner corner of the lid and the pink color on the outer lid and blended. To get the 'V' shape at the edges, I put my foundation on after my eye makeup, and swiped foundation in a line under my eyeshadow with my foundation brush. I got a clean eyeshadow line this way. I didn't use the black color in the look below because I was going to work and didn't want to have a dark smokey eye in the day time. I will use the black color in a look and post pictures soon, though.

These eyeshadows have such great pigmentation, and I definitely recommend checking them out before they become hard to find, because beauty bloggers all over are raving about them! I think silver and pink make such a funky spring look. What are your thoughts?
